One of the highlights of the garden club year is the “Summer Show” and this year was no exception. Last week, over half of our members turned up at the village hall with their entries of flowers, fruit, veg, produce and cake. As well as craft and photography. The end result was a wonderful display from members and non members.
At 10.45 the doors closed, and the room was quiet as the judges started on the task of examining, squeezing, measuring, weighing and eyeing up! Thanks must go to the 8 judges who so kindly gave up their time to do this.
By 2.00 p.m. The judging was finished with the award cards in place and the public started to arrive.
It was a delightful and fun afternoon. The show was well supported by both garden club members and non members. The exhibits were of a high standard with sumptuous looking vegetables and produce. Elegant floral arrangements and a riot of colour and form from the flowers and pot plants.
Big thanks must go to everyone who made this such a special afternoon in our calendar, especially Brian and Anita Gatehouse who are the show organisers.
